Location: Anywhere in Canada – Remote Position Type: Part-time (2-5 hours per week) Reports to: Executive Director / Board of Directors About Us Kaleidoscope is a peer-led mental health organization dedicated to empowering individuals through connection, community, and support. We believe that lived experience is a strength, and we work to create safe spaces for people to share, learn, and thrive. Our programs range from peer support groups to awareness campaigns, education, and advocacy initiatives. We are seeking a Marketing Director who is passionate about mental health, understands the non-profit landscape, and is ready to help amplify our voice, grow our community, and increase the impact of our work. Position Overview The Marketing Director will lead the development and execution of Kaleidoscope’s marketing, communications, and brand strategy. This role blends creativity, strategic thinking, and hands-on execution to build awareness, drive engagement, and inspire action. The ideal candidate will balance big-picture vision with the ability to roll up their sleeves and deliver impactful campaigns that resonate with our diverse community of members, donors, and partners. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Develop and guide teams to implement a multi-channel marketing strategy aligned with Kaleidoscope’s mission, values, and organizational goals. Lead brand positioning and messaging to ensure a consistent, authentic voice across all platforms. Work closely with marketing leads to align marketing priorities with fundraising, program delivery, and community engagement objectives. Content & Communications Oversee creation of compelling content for web, social media, newsletters, and print materials. Write, edit, and review copy for campaigns, press releases, blog posts, and promotional materials. Manage the content calendar to ensure timely, relevant communication. Digital & Social Media Oversee and guide digital engagement strategies, including organic and paid social media, email marketing, and search optimization. Monitor analytics to measure performance, optimize campaigns, and grow online presence. Fundraising & Campaign Support Partner with teams to create donor communications, impact reports, and fundraising campaign materials. Support event promotion, ticket sales, and sponsorship opportunities through targeted outreach and marketing. Community & Stakeholder Engagement Build relationships with media, influencers, partner organizations, and community groups to expand Kaleidoscope’s reach. Promote stories of impact that highlight the voices of our members and volunteers while ensuring sensitivity and confidentiality. Qualifications Required: Minimum 5+ years in marketing, communications, or related field (non-profit experience preferred). Proven success developing and executing marketing strategies and campaigns. Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills. Strong project management and organizational abilities. Familiarity with digital marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Canva, Monday, Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, Google Ads). Preferred: Experience working in mental health, community services, or social impact sectors. Understanding of trauma-informed and inclusive communication practices. Comfort with both strategic leadership and hands-on implementation.
