Join us as a Volunteer and Make a Difference!

We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join us as volunteers for the Black Music Month Festival.

As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the success of the festival while gaining valuable experience and skills. There are various roles available, including: handling registration and event sign-in, Box office, crowd management, directing people to the entrance of event, answering questions about event, handing out fliers to curious passerby's, event coordination, artist management, marketing, and more. There are lots of opportunities to get involved!!!


The 7th annual Black Music Month Festival will be held on May 31st to June 2nd 2024.
Our event is free(donations encouraged) and open to the public,
it will be held at the City Centre Artist Lodge in Mount Pleasant, Vancouver.

This year, the festival is going "Black to The Roots," highlighting the rich history and cultural significance of African American music.
The festival celebrates the African American contribution to western genres Folk, Blues, Gospel, Soul RnB.

This year's event will feature performances, panel discussions, workshops, and a BIPOC Pop Up Market.  The festival's newest stage, "WORD IS BORN," will highlight poetry, storytelling, and other forms of artistic expression, prioritizing underrepresented and marginalized voices.


The pop-up market has local vendors Art Soul Methods; Giving a platform for them to sell their wares(food, clothes, jewelry, soaps, candles, incense, etc).

WHO WE ARE: Fade To Black Entertainment Society
Our organization is Black-owned and prioritizes Black & BIPOC artists and other people of colour and like minded organizations in terms of volunteers and collaborators.
Purpose: Fade to Black Entertainment society (FTBE) supports Black Canadian voice for artists to share their talents and story; designed to promote and produce Afro Canadian artists in the pacific north west; in music, film and new media, inter-arts that express culture and story with emerging and professional individuals along with like-minded organizations in Canada and around the globe. We've been putting on events in Vancouver, BC, since 2000 that encourage unity and a collective expression. Rallying, connecting and collaborating with Afro Canadian artists into working together in our on going film & music showcase.
At the core of our organization we aim to uplift the Black community in Vancouver by organizing events in collaboration with local curators, vendors, artists and musicians that bring communities together. We recently teamed up with Art Soul Methods a BIPOC collective of artisan vendors. We recognize that we are part of the larger African diaspora in the world and that by coming together and celebrating different aspects of our experiences, we strengthen each other. We provide a safe space for Black people from all backgrounds to express themselves with their artistic and creative endeavours. We proudly display the talents of Black people in BC, Canada and throughout the world.
