Volunteer Directors - Dunbar Community Centre Association (DCCA)

2-10 hours / monthly
6 months to ongoing
The DCCA is seeking enthusiastic volunteer Directors interested in working with our Board of Directors and committees, such as Programming, Governance and Finance. OurĀ Board is comprised of community members who are dedicated to enhancing and improving the quality of life in the Dunbar community, continuing a long tradition of volunteering to help our neighbours.

To do this, the Board works with Vancouver Park Board staff to provide programs and education that focus on health, wellness, arts, culture, and recreation as well as entertainment and special events. The Board is committed to ensuring that the Dunbar Community Centre is a welcoming, safe environment for everyone, that promotes community connection, engagement, and volunteerism. We are working constantly to ensure that the Dunbar Community Centre is a cornerstone in our great community today and for future generations. We would love to have you join us in this endeavour.

The Dunbar Community Centre Association is a non-profit society and registered charity, whose vision is to represent and advocate for the recreational, social, and educational interests of our community. The DCCA Board is operated jointly with the Vancouver PB and works with Vancouver PB staff to provide programs and opportunities that focus on health, wellness, arts, culture, and recreation as well as entertainment, socializing and special events. We also operate inclusive daycamps in the Summer. We also present the annual Dunbar Holiday Craft, a long standing and much loved event.

Current Directors have backgrounds in business, finance, law, marketing, communications, engineering and human resources, all of which are drawn on to efficiently conduct the business of the Association. We have a diverse and dynamic team that thoughtfully and collaboratively work together.

The majority of meetings are done remotely so we remain flexible with availability and other personal or professional commitments. Experience with online meetings, calls and document collaboration is necessary.

If you are interested in joining the Board, you can complete the Board Membership Application form on our website: https://www.dunbarcentre.org/application-board-membership/
