Help Grow the Sport of Sailing in Alberta! Sunshine Bay Yacht Club (SBYC) is a volunteer-operated, not-for-profit sailing club located on Lake Wabamun, approximately one hour west of Edmonton. Our club provides affordable access to sailing, racing, cruising, training, and social activities for members and their families. We're looking for a creative and enthusiastic volunteer to help us grow awareness of the club, attract new members, and showcase sailing as an accessible and affordable recreational activity. Many people are surprised to learn that sailing can be comparable in cost to other outdoor hobbies, while offering a unique community experience and lifestyle. We're working to share that story with more Albertans and would love your help. What you'll be doing: Assisting with social media planning and content creation Scheduling posts on Facebook and Instagram Developing ideas for membership recruitment campaigns Helping develop a library of digital assets - photos & videos of sailing and club activities Promoting club events, open houses, sailing programs, and community activities Helping create graphics using Canva (Canva Pro provided) Assisting with website content updates and communications as needed Helping tell the story of sailing and life at Sunshine Bay Yacht Club This role is flexible and can be tailored to the volunteer's interests, skills, and availability. Whether you're a student looking to build experience, a marketing professional wanting to give back, or someone passionate about outdoor recreation and community organizations, we'd love to hear from you. No sailing experience is required—just creativity, initiative, and an interest in helping a local volunteer-run organization grow. This position can be completed remotely, with optional opportunities to visit the club and attend events during the sailing season. We're particularly interested in volunteers with an interest in marketing, communications, digital media, tourism, recreation, outdoor lifestyles, or community development.
