About Sunshine Bay Yacht Club

Sunshine Bay Yacht Club (SBYC) is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit sailing club located on Lake Wabamun, approximately one hour west of Edmonton, Alberta. Established to promote the sport of sailing and foster a strong sense of community, SBYC provides members and their families access to sailing, racing, cruising, training, and social activities in a welcoming lakeside environment.

Our club is built on the principles of volunteerism, inclusiveness, safety, stewardship, and seamanship. Members work together to maintain club facilities, support sailing programs, organize events, and create opportunities for people of all ages and experience levels to enjoy life on the water.

SBYC is committed to making sailing accessible and affordable while promoting environmental stewardship and lifelong learning. Through partnerships with local communities and sailing organizations, we continue to grow interest in sailing and provide a unique recreational experience for current and future generations.
