Volunteer Driver in Oakville- Summit Health & Wellness Program

Make a Difference in Your Community!

Our Volunteer Drivers play a vital role in supporting the Summit Health & Wellness Program by helping clients safely access programs in Oakville and Milton. In this role, you will provide reliable transportation for up to five participants at a time using a company vehicle, making a meaningful impact on their health, connection, and overall well-being.

We are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment. As a volunteer, you will help maintain this by following program guidelines, respecting confidentiality, and building positive, supportive interactions with clients and staff.

What You’ll Do
•	Safely transport clients to scheduled wellness groups and events
•	Coordinate schedules with the Volunteer Coordinator
•	Ensure passenger safety and follow all vehicle and program policies
•	Represent Summit in a professional and welcoming manner

Additional Responsibilities
•	Report any concerns related to client well-being or safety promptly
•	Communicate any vehicle issues or incidents
•	Help foster a respectful, supportive, and confidential environment

•	Help individuals access vital mental health and wellness programs they might otherwise be unable to attend
•	Reduce social isolation by supporting connection to community and group activities
•	Contribute to participants’ confidence, independence, and overall well-being
•	Create a positive, supportive experience through safe and reliable transportation

Please note this is a supportive role-volunteers are not expected to provide counselling.

Additional Details & Skills Required
Volunteer Drivers may occasionally support individuals experiencing emotional distress or heightened behaviors. In these situations, volunteers are expected to remain calm, communicate respectfully, and follow established safety procedures. This role also requires the ability to operate a vehicle safely, assist clients with entering and exiting the vehicle, and respond appropriately to a variety of situations with care and professionalism.
Certification or Education Required
•	Current valid G-Class Ontario driver’s license is required. 
•	Clean driving record – 3-year Driver’s Abstract is required
