Board Director — Help Launch a Calgary Makerspace (Finance, Legal, or Governance)

EDGE Calgary Makerspace Society is a brand-new nonprofit on a mission of radical access — giving Calgarians free, hands-on access to world-class tools (3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, electronics benches) and one-on-one mentorship, so anyone can turn "what if" into "what is." We focus on youth, newcomers, and job-seekers who would otherwise be priced out of high-tech learning.

We're seeking 2 experienced volunteers to join our founding Board of Directors and help guide the organization through its critical early stage. This is a meaningful chance to shape a new community organization from the ground up.

We're especially looking for people with a background in one of:
- Finance / accounting (treasurer-type oversight)
- Legal
- Fundraising or grant-writing
- Nonprofit governance

No prior board experience required — just relevant professional skills, integrity, and a genuine belief in opportunity through making. Directors attend regular board meetings (most can be virtual), help with governance and strategy, and act as ambassadors for EDGE in the community.
