Are you passionate about supporting new mothers and their babies, as well as pregnant women? Shifra Homes, a maternity shelter in Burlington, is looking for caring, dependable volunteers to provide hands-on support to the women and families in our care. This is a unique opportunity that will allow you to make meaningful relationships and impact on the lives of these women who are navigating pregnancy and motherhood. We are looking for volunteers who will be able to dedicate their time and skills for mornings, afternoons, evenings, and/or weekends! Due to the sensitive nature of our work and the vulnerable population we serve, we are currently seeking women volunteers only for this role.
Additional Details & Skills Required
There will be no formal training provided. The primary expectation is simply that volunteers show up consistently and are willing to dedicate their time and skills to support the residents and their babies. Your presence, compassion, and willingness to help are what matter most.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Volunteering at our maternity shelter is a chance to support pregnant women and new moms during vulnerable times. Whether you're a mother, grandmother, or caring community member, your presence brings comfort, stability, and hope. From helping with cleaning to offering a ride or helping with a newborn, your support matters. The connection you build with the women remind them that they're not alone, that community still exists, and that people care.
