Summer Coding Teaching Volunteer Opportunities

💻❓Know how to code? Particularly have experience in Python, HTML and/or Scratch? Have a passion or love teaching? ARTex Society is looking for teachers to work with us! We are a Vancouver, British Columbia Based non-profit coding academy which introduces students in elementary school to the basic building blocks of coding and computer science. Additionally, we work with more advanced topics and teach highschool students interested in pursuing Computer Sciences or simply want to learn a new skill. We are hosting 3 classes starting early August this year, and are looking for both students and experienced teachers to join our teaching team! If you are interested in applying, the following dates are when classes beginning in August will be run.

August 4th - October 12th, Python (Teaching students of grades 5-12) 

August 4th - October 12th, HTML (Teaching students of grades 5-12) 

August 4th - September 31st, Coding with Scratch (Teaching students of grades 3-10) 


All classes run on weekday afternoons or evenings. Specific timing of the lessons will be arranged depending on instructor availability. Lessons happen once per week, spanning 2 hours each week. Please use your own technology such as laptop, adaptors, chargers and accessories necessary.

Basic lesson plans will be provided but you will be able to personalize your plans and specifics on topics taught. If you are interested in teaching, please apply and fill out the google form. We will reach out within the next week with additional details. We will schedule a Zoom meeting for discussing the camp in further detail, as well as to answer any questions you may have. This meeting will be a chance for you to meet your co-teachers, directors and review the lesson plans.
