Volunteer Graphic Design & Communications Support

2 hours / monthly
-
Kaleidoscope Mental Health Support Society is a peer-led BC charity creating welcoming spaces for connection, belonging, and mutual support for people with lived and living experience of mental health challenges.

We offer peer support groups, one-to-one peer support, early psychosis peer support, wellness activities, educational opportunities, and community events. Our programs are designed to be accessible and relational, with many opportunities available without a diagnosis, referral, or formal intake process.

We are looking for a creative volunteer to help us spread the word about Kaleidoscope through engaging and accessible designs. You might help create social media graphics, posters, event promotions, outreach materials, Canva templates, or visuals that highlight our programs and community impact.

This is a flexible opportunity that can be shaped around your interests and skills. You do not need to be a professional designer — students, emerging creatives, and people building their portfolios are very welcome. Experience with Canva, Adobe programs, or other design tools is helpful.

What makes this opportunity especially meaningful is that your work will have a direct purpose: helping people discover free peer support, community connection, and opportunities to get involved. You will have room to bring your own creativity while collaborating with a small, community-focused organization that values lived experience, accessibility, mutuality, and different ways of contributing.

This could be a great fit for someone interested in graphic design, communications, social media, nonprofit work, mental health, or community engagement.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Volunteers will gain hands-on experience creating real-world designs for a nonprofit organization while building their portfolio. They can strengthen skills in graphic design, Canva, branding, social media, visual communication, and nonprofit marketing. Volunteers will also practice collaboration, incorporating feedback, communicating for diverse audiences, and translating ideas into engaging, accessible materials.
