Heroes Challenge is a unique team-building experience where your participation helps create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. The magic of this event is that it brings together two types of Make-A-Wish heroes: our supporters and our wish children. Heroes Challenge encourages everyday people to swap their business attire for superhero suits as they team up with a wish child to create their very own superhero squad. Volunteers will help to run the various challenges to ensure the day runs smoothly and the teams have lots of fun!
Location: South Centre (100 Anderson Road SE, Calgary, AB T2J 3V1) Check-in: Center Court
Time: 9:00am - 2:00pm
To Bring: Please wear your Make-A-Wish shirt it you have one (if not one will be provided). Comfortable shoes, water bottle
Volunteer Roles:
- Registration and Scoreboard: FULL
- Challenge Supervisors: In pairs, volunteers will run a challenge at a store in the mall. Each challenge will have store and mall staff on hand to support. All training provided. (5 shifts remaining)
- Fuel Up Station: FULL
Once the challenges are complete, all volunteers will return to Center Court to help with closing ceremonies and hand out lunch tickets.
Other Notes:
- Parking available onsite, public transit accessible, event space is very accessible
- Training session will be held before the event day to run through different challenges and event details
- Volunteers will receive snacks and lunch
- Volunteers must be 18+
