Social Media & Marketing Intern (Volunteer)
About Us K’aayil Foundation is a brand-new charity dedicated to empowering children through education and opportunity. We provide funding, mentorship, and programs that help students in Yucatán, Mexico access quality education, skill-building experiences, and career opportunities. Our goal is to use the power of community, culture, and music to fund education for students in Mexico. We are a small but mighty team, passionate about making giving back in a cool, impactful, and culturally rooted way. Our first event was a high-energy event blending music, community, and purpose to raise funds for students in need - and that’s just the beginning. We’re looking for a Social Media & Marketing Intern who can help us tell our story, build real community, and support partnerships with local brands and artists. What You’ll Do - Collaborate on and execute a content strategy that builds community and makes people want to be part of what we’re doing. - Create on-brand, visually compelling content using Canva and Capcut. - Help promote upcoming events with content that’s hype-worthy and intentional. - Take initiative to keep projects moving and ensure deadlines are hit. - Pitch new ideas for content and engagement, thinking outside of the box but still highly aligned with our brand. - Collaborate with local brands, artists, and influencers to spread our mission. Who You Are - A self-starter who brings fresh ideas but also welcomes direction and feedback. - Creative, thoughtful, and understands how to create content that resonates. - Detail-oriented and reliable, you follow through and communicate proactively. - Confident using Canva, Instagram (especially Reels), and basic content tools. - Passionate about music, community events, and building a movement from the ground up. - Based in (or close to) Vancouver, we need feet on the ground for content, events, and local collabs. What You’ll Get - The chance to make a real impact on the lives of many students in Mexico, while working with a young, small team of go-getters who turn bold ideas into real impact. - A rare chance to be part of a nonprofit from day one, and help mold and shape our brand. - Hands-on experience in social media, marketing, events, and partnerships. - Networking with creatives, DJs, and community leaders in Vancouver.
