Friendly Visitor Volunteer Training With Seniors Available at No Cost

Are you looking for a meaningful opportunity? Our Community  Support Services at Jewish Seniors Alliance is accepting applications for our Friendly Visiting Program. The volunteer training will prepare you with the skills to interact with seniors in our community and will enhance employment opportunities and personal growth.  The program is available to people 18 years and older. 
The training consists of five sessions all on zoom and the sixth session in person  at our office at 800 Broadway East, Vancouver, BC

The training is offered at no cost and at the end of the training you will receive a certificate in friendly visiting,

Volunteers need to live in Vancouver to be able to visit seniors who live in Vancouver

Next training starting in September 2025. 

First session is Tuesday September 9, 2025, 530 pm- 830 pm on Zoom, 
continuing on September 11,16,18,23 and 25 for a total of 18 hours, over six sessions

Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
You will become more skilled with age related challenges, grief and loss, isolation, loneliness and many other issues facing older adults including helping seniors cope with their increased anxiety and isolation caused by COVID-19.  Jewish Seniors Alliance is a inclusive organization and reaches out to all seniors from all ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds.
At the end of the training you will get a certificate.
