Are you interested in making a meaningful difference for a youth in Surrey? Fill out an application form here to become a Big Brothers Community Mentor: www.bigbrothersvancouver.com/volunteer-application-what-should-i-expect/ Our Big Brothers Community Program pairs you with a Little Buddy based on personality and shared interests to build a supportive one-to-one relationship based on trust, connection, and fun! You will spend two or more hours once per week doing free or low-cost activities you both enjoy and are paired for a minimum of one year. As a Big Brothers Community Mentor, you are • Male, trans, or gender-diverse who is 18+. • Reliable, consistent, dedicated, and respectful of others. • Able to meet weekly for two or more hours with a Mentee on weekends or after school for one year. Big Brothers Community Mentees are • Boys, trans, and gender-diverse children and youth ages 7 to 14. • Children or youth who would benefit from having a positive role model in their life. Urgent need for volunteers in Surrey! Some of our Littles have been waiting more than two years to be matched with their Big Brother. Training • You will be supported throughout your match by one of our experienced case workers, also known as a Mentoring Coordinator. • No prior experience working with children is necessary.
