Math Tutor - Mentoring with Math (Virtual or In-Person)

Our Mentoring with Math Program strengthens the impact of tutoring by adding in the element of mentorship. You’ll meet in the afternoon, once per week for 90-minute sessions over a 10-week period, and work on numeracy, activities, and games.

As a Math Mentor, you are
•	Adults aged 18+, inclusive of male, female, trans, and gender-diverse individuals.
•	Reliable, consistent, dedicated, and respectful of others.
•	Able to meet once weekly during weekday afternoons between 4:00pm and 5:30pm for either 90-minute in-person sessions or 60-minute virtual sessions.
As a Mentoring with Math volunteer, you are asked to enroll in a minimum of two 10-week terms as it's the best way to experience this fun program.

Math Mentees are
•	Children in grades 3-7 who demonstrate a need for assistance in math at their grade level.
•	From families who are not otherwise able to access academic support outside of school.

Training
•	You will be supported throughout your match by one of our experienced case workers, also known as a Mentoring Coordinator.
•	Math Mentors are provided with a JUMP Math workbook.
•	No prior experience working with children is necessary. Free training is provided!

Locations
•	In-person programs are offered at a Surrey Library on Tuesdays between 4:00pm – 5:30pm. 
•	Virtual programs run once a week from Monday to Thursday between 4:00pm – 5:00pm.
