In-School Mentoring

Surrey, White Rock, Delta, Richmond, Port Moody, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, New Westminster, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Burnaby and Vancouver [map]
1 hour / weekly
Duration of the school year.
Have fun, de-stress, and feel like a kid again while making a positive and local impact for youth!

Our In-School Mentoring Program pairs you with one elementary school student who you share common interests with.

Matches spend one-hour once per week together on school grounds doing non-academic activities such as playing sports, games, creating art or just hanging out at the playground.
Our matches are paired for the duration, or remainder, of the academic school-year.

Note: we are now matching volunteers for the 2024-25 school year starting in September.

Our Big Buddies are
•	Adults aged 18+, inclusive of male, female, trans, and gender diverse individuals.
•	Mentors who Little Buddies can talk to, learn from, and share experiences with.

Our Little Buddies are
•	Students grade 1 to 7 nominated by teachers, staff or by themselves.
•	Children who could use a bit of extra 1-on-1 attention, need to build confidence, or may have trouble connecting with peers.

Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
As a volunteer, you can make a positive impact on the community, gain a sense of personal reward and fulfillment by contributing to a child's self-esteem, develop a more positive attitude, which leads to greater productivity at work and makes a new friend

We organize fun activities year-round like water-skiing, sailing, and wall-climbing. Whenever possible, our organization provides activity ideas and free tickets and admission vouchers to Big and Little Brothers.
