Position Title: Volunteer – PA Study Squad Workshop Facilitator

Time Commitment: Flexible; Minimum of 3-5 hours per month

About the Program:
PA Study Squad – Learn, Grow, and Succeed Together!
At Project Abraham, we recognize the challenges high school students face while balancing academics, extracurricular activities, and personal life. PA Study Squad is a volunteer-led initiative designed to help newcomer youth in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) build the skills they need to succeed academically and personally. Through dynamic, group-based workshops, we create a supportive learning environment that fosters confidence, motivation, and growth.

Volunteer Role Overview:
We are seeking passionate, reliable volunteers to support the development and facilitation of skill-building workshops for newcomer youth (ages 13–22). This is not a tutoring role—instead, volunteers will help design and deliver engaging, peer-oriented sessions focused on topics such as:
•	Time & Task Management
•	Study Strategies & Academic Self-Care
•	Essay Writing Techniques
•	Preventing Academic Burnout
•	Overcoming Procrastination
•	Goal Setting and Motivation
Volunteers are encouraged to bring creativity and energy to workshop creation while maintaining a welcoming, collaborative space for youth to learn from one another.

Key Responsibilities:
•	Assist in designing interactive, youth-focused workshop content
•	Co-facilitate or lead 45-minute group sessions virtually
•	Engage youth participants and encourage group discussion
•	Support outreach efforts to increase program participation
•	Ensure confidentiality and uphold respectful, inclusive practices

Ideal Volunteer Qualities:
•	Strong communication and organizational skills
•	Passion for youth development and education
•	Comfortable leading virtual sessions (Zoom, Teams)
•	Empathetic, encouraging, and collaborative attitude
•	Experience in education, youth programming, or peer mentorship (an asset, but not required)
•	Ability to work with diverse communities and newcomer youth
•	Must complete a background check before starting will be reimbursed by Project Abraham. 
•	Have a device and internet connection
