Site Maintenance & Invasive Species Removal Volunteer

24 hours
Minimum of three months
Site Maintenance Volunteers help maintain the 25 acres of forested property at the Northern Spotted Owl Breeding Program in Langley. Keeping the ever-growing weeds and invasive species at bay is important for maintaining our buildings, roads, and aviaries, and ultimately keeping the owls safe.
This volunteer role is best suited for those who like to work outside and get their hands dirty! Tools and equipment, as well as a volunteer orientation and specific training, will be provided.

Note: For the safety of the owls, we do not post the address of the breeding centre online.

Please note:
Volunteers MUST be at least 16 years of age and be able to drive themselves to the site (no pick ups/drop offs, not accessible by public transportation). Please do not apply if you do not fulfill this requirement.

The NSOBP is a non-smoking work environment.

The NSOBP site is not wheel chair accessible.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Be associated with the British Columbia Conservation Foundation, one of the longest-standing conservation initiatives in the province.

Be part of a team working to restore the population of one of the most endangered and iconic species in Canada.

Networking opportunities, social events with other NSOBP volunteers, and exclusive tours of our facility.
