Marketing Manager

One year
ABOUT US

Shea-Lynn's Butterfly Effect (SBE) is a small but growing charity focused on saving lives through seatbelt education and awareness. Volunteers are at the heart of our work, and with the right leadership, we can support more families and expand our impact across the community.

OVERVIEW

The Marketing Manager leads SBE’s marketing and communications efforts, ensuring our brand is strong, our message is clear, and our work reaches the people who need to hear it. This is a strategic leadership role within the volunteer team. You’ll develop our annual marketing plan, oversee a small team of creative volunteers, and make sure everything SBE puts out in the world reflects who we are and what we stand for. You won’t be doing all the execution yourself. You’ll be guiding and supporting the people who do.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
•	Develop and recommend SBE’s annual marketing plan in collaboration with the ED
•	Recommend marketing budgets and manage approved activities
•	Ensure all materials and messaging reflect SBE’s brand identity, tone, and values
•	Oversee the social media content team, providing direction, reviewing content, and maintaining quality
•	Guide the development of print materials including flyers, infographics, and program resources
•	Build relationships with local media, community partners, and potential collaborators
•	Monitor overall marketing performance and bring insights to the ED
•	Recruit and support marketing team volunteers as the team grows

WHO YOU ARE
•	Passionate about SBE’s mission and able to translate it into compelling communications
•	Strategic and creative — you see both the big picture and the details
•	Collaborative and supportive — you bring out the best in the people around you
•	Organized and reliable — you manage multiple priorities without dropping the ball
•	Comfortable in a growing organization where processes are still being built

WHAT YOU BRING
•	Experience in marketing, communications, brand management, or a related field
•	Proven ability to develop and execute marketing plans
•	Strong understanding of brand consistency and messaging
•	Experience leading or coordinating a creative team
•	Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•	Proficiency with basic office software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace); familiarity with marketing tools or platforms is an asset

From storytelling and campaigns to brand awareness and outreach, your work will help strengthen our impact and support the growth of our mission. Ready to help drive meaningful change? Join our team today! 🚀
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
•	Leadership experience in nonprofit marketing and communications
•	The opportunity to shape and grow a brand that matters
•	A close working relationship with the Executive Director
•	Recognition and eligibility for a reference letter after 3 months of consistent service
•	Invitations to team events and planning sessions
