Volunteer Coordinator

ROLE:  Volunteer Coordinator, Strathcona County Culture Days Planning Committee

The Arts and Culture Council of Strathcona County (ACCSC) is a vibrant, community-focused organization that champions the promotion and appreciation of arts, culture and heritage in our region.

Strathcona County Culture Days Celebrations is an annual event aimed at promoting and celebrating arts, culture, and heritage in our community. 

The Culture Days Planning Committee is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing the event to ensure its success year after year. 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Volunteer Coordinator, you have a knack for seeking out people who are interested in volunteering and can match them to our roles or duties. Your main responsibilities will include:
 - Identify volunteer requirements such as # of volunteers, volunteer roles, etc.
 - Recruit and onboard volunteers, ensuring we have a strong team to make each event a success
 - Ensure there is ample support to our volunteers, ensure they feel valued and part of our community
 - Coordinate volunteer tasks, schedules, breaks  making sure our event runs smoothly and efficiently

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
A people-focused individual with great organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and loves to develop schedules and roles. comfortable working in a dynamic environment, but above all, we're looking for someone who shares our passion for arts and culture, and who wants to help us make a difference in our community.

TIME INVOLVED
1 - 2 hours per week from until 4 weeks leading up to the event date (September/early October timeframe). 2 - 3 hours per week (possibly up to 4 but rarely) for the three weeks leading up to the event date. Needs to be available for event days once determined to direct and support event volunteers.
