Program Coordinator

ROLE:  Program Coordinator, Strathcona County Culture Days Planning Committee

The Arts and Culture Council of Strathcona County (ACCSC) is a vibrant, community-focused organization that champions the promotion and appreciation of arts, culture and heritage in our region.

Strathcona County Culture Days Celebrations is an annual event aimed at promoting and celebrating arts, culture, and heritage in our community. 

The Culture Days Planning Committee is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing the event to ensure its success year after year. 


ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Community Group and Program Coordinator, you are the committee member who works the closest with community groups to develop a diverse, fun, and engaging program for Culture Days. The responsibilities for this role include:
 - Key liaison between the planning committee, community groups and artists
 - Elicit and organize activities and performances to develop a diverse and engaging program; develops overall program schedule
 - Develop open communication channels with community groups to deliver and receive Culture Days information, answer questions and ensure all groups are well informed
 - Gather, understand and coordinate technical performance requirements
 - Works closely with the Facilities Coordinator ensuring all facilities and logistics requirements are documented and met for performances and community groups

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
In this role, you have strong communication and organizational skills, have some experience developing or organizing a program or event, and are passionate about arts, culture and heritage within our county.

TIME INVOLVED
1 - 2  hours per week from now until July,  increasing to 2 - 2.5 hours per week from July until the week before the event date.  3 - 7 hours required the week before the event date (September/early October timeframe). Needs to be available for the day before the event and event days, to work with audio visual provider and community groups, execute your program and support the community performers.
