Organization: Right to Live Canada Department: Global Narrative Integrity Team Location: Remote (Canada, United States, or Europe) Time Commitment: 35 hours/week minimum, four-month minimum commitment (duration negotiable) Right to Live Canada is a virtual-office based Canadian non-profit start-up dedicated to realizing the right to live as a practical, supported, and executable choice. Founded in response to poverty-driven euthanasia among Canadians with disabilities, we are building Continuity—a service, financial, technological, and institutional framework that helps people remain connected to preferable living futures. Our work spans Continuity Service, Continuity Insurance, Social Brokerage, and Corporate Farming to create scalable solutions that protect and extend the right to live. ------ ROLE DESCRIPTION We are seeking a Strategic Communications Manager to lead the Strategic Communications & Partnerships Department within our Global Narrative Integrity Team. This senior volunteer leadership role is responsible for developing strategic partnerships and strengthening relationships with universities, nonprofits, healthcare organizations, journalists, researchers, policymakers, and other institutional partners. Working closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams, the successful candidate will help expand the organization's visibility, credibility, and long-term impact through collaborative initiatives and stakeholder engagement. ------ KEY RESPONSIBILITY -- Lead the Strategic Communications & Partnerships Department. -- Develop partnerships with universities, research institutions, nonprofits, healthcare organizations, and professional associations. -- Coordinate external communications supporting organizational initiatives. -- Supervise Partnership Coordinators and Institutional Outreach Coordinators. -- Identify conferences, workshops, and speaking opportunities. -- Develop stakeholder engagement strategies that support organizational growth. -- Coordinate collaborative projects with academic and institutional partners. -- Maintain partnership databases and engagement records. -- Support Executive Leadership in developing strategic relationships. -- Collaborate with Journalist Relations to ensure consistent external communications. -- Mentor volunteers responsible for partnerships and stakeholder engagement. ------ QUALIFICATIONS Required: -- Experience in communications, public affairs, partnership development, stakeholder engagement, nonprofit leadership, or a related field. -- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -- Experience managing professional relationships with external organizations. -- Strong organizational and project management skills. -- Ability to represent the organization professionally before diverse audiences. -- Comfort working remotely with a high degree of ownership and initiative. -- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills. -- Commitment to a full-time volunteer schedule of approximately 35 hours per week. Preferred: -- Experience working with universities, nonprofits, healthcare organizations, think tanks, or research institutions. -- Experience coordinating partnerships, conferences, or strategic initiatives. -- Background in public affairs, communications, or institutional development. -- Experience developing stakeholder engagement strategies. -- Interest in helping build an internationally recognized public affairs organization. TIME COMMITMENT This is a full-time volunteer role requiring a minimum commitment of 35 hours per week. Right to Live Canada is an early-stage, founder-led organization pursuing rapid national and global expansion.
