Social Media Video Editor (Remote, Part-Time)

Organization: Right to Live Canada Location: Remote (United States, Canada or Europe) Time Commitment: Firm commitment of 10 to 12 hours per week. Duration negotiable, four month minimum. This is a remote volunteer opportunity with Right to Live Canada, a virtual-office based Canadian non-profit start-up. ------ THE MISSION Right to Live Canada is a Canadian non-profit start-up working to make the right to live a practical, supported, and executable choice. We are developing services, financial models, technology, and institutional systems to support preferable living futures. ------ ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a Social Media Video Editor to turn interviews, meetings, presentations, and other footage into polished content for LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and our websites. ------ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES -- Editing short-form and 5–7 minute videos from raw footage. -- Cutting footage, improving audio, colour correction, framing, captions, titles, and basic motion graphics. -- Creating horizontal and vertical platform-ready videos. -- Organizing project files, versions, and final assets. -- Working with organizational leads and incorporating feedback through revisions. -- Using strong editorial judgment to create accurate, engaging public-facing content. ------ QUALIFICATIONS Universal Requirements: -- Good video and audio equipment for virtual meetings. -- A quiet, dedicated environment where you can give virtual meetings your full attention. Required: -- Minimum 3 years of professional video editing/post-production experience; 5+ preferred. -- Experience creating social-media video content. -- Strong portfolio or work samples. -- Proficiency with **Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent. -- Strong skills in editing, pacing, audio cleanup, colour correction, captions, titles, and basic motion graphics. -- Ability to consistently commit 10–12 hours per week. -- Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and reliability. Preferred: -- Modern, polished editing style. -- Experience with LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels, or Facebook. -- Experience explaining technology, science, healthcare, policy, advocacy, or complex topics through video. -- Motion graphics, animation, documentary, interview, podcast, or educational-content experience. -- Experience using ChatGPT for visual concepts, storyboards, or supporting video assets. ------ TIME COMMITMENT This is a 10–12 hour/week volunteer role with a four-month minimum. Multiple editors will share the overall workload, but each editor must maintain their individual weekly commitment.
