Media Relations Team - Specialists and Team Lead (Remote, Part Time)

25-60 hours / weekly
1 to 2 months, possibility to extend
------ About Right to Live Canada
Right to Live is a start-up non-profit corporation creating the first solution infrastructure to offer competitive, viable alternatives to MAiD that consist of a living future. We are building a referable resource for MAiD assessors and care teams to address Economic Euthanasia (cases where an alternative was possible but not achieved) and Economic Disability Euthanasia (applications driven by the systemic poverty present in Canadian disability support programs).

------ The Role
We treat our team members like professional contractors. You will be given clear objectives, high autonomy, and the expectation of professional-grade execution. As our Media Relations Specialist, you will be the bridge between our internal operations and the press.

This is a high intensity, short term role that is ideal for those between professional roles, upper-year or graduate students on summer break, retirees or those on work break, or otherwise having the time to dedicate serious efforts. We are in a high intensity start-up phase where we need to make a massive media push.

We are recruiting for a team of 10 Media and Public Relations Specialists to be led by a Team Lead. This is a remote position. We are based in Eastern Time zone but welcome those from across Canada and have reasonably flexible working hours.

------ Key Responsibilities:

-- Act as the definitive point of contact and liaison for news organizations, journalists, and media outlets.
-- Strategically disseminate press releases and organizational updates to maximize reach and impact.
-- Pitch stories, coordinate media inquiries, and secure coverage that aligns with our strategic objectives.
-- Build and manage a high-value pipeline of relevant media contacts.
-- Generate the media presence we need to sell our B2B sponsorships and control the narrative on Canada's MAiD deficits

------ The Commitment

-- Hours: 18–24 hours per week.
-- Schedule: Fully flexible. There is no set schedule or micromanagement; we operate on a strict operational cadence where deliverables and results are what matter.
-- Duration: Short-term initial engagement of 1 to 2 months. An option to extend the role will be available based on organizational needs and your performance.

------ Who You Are

-- A professional with experience in PR, communications, media relations, or journalism.
-- Self-directed and capable of taking ownership of your department's outreach without needing someone looking over your shoulder.
-- A strong, persuasive communicator who can pitch and sell our brand, narrative and press releases to news organizations and can effectively control the public narrative.
