Legal Counsel / Advisor (Flexible, Remote)

Are you a legal professional passionate about using your skills to protect and empower a growing non-profit? Right to Live is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented legal professional to provide pro-bono counsel. As we launch our "TipTap for a Cause" initiative, we require a solid legal framework to ensure our operations are compliant, professional, and secure. This is a foundational role with a direct and lasting impact on our ability to serve vulnerable Canadians. You will be the architect of the legal documents that underpin our partnerships with businesses, our relationship with volunteers, and our commitment to privacy and transparency. --- Key Responsibilities: + Drafting Core Agreements: Create the primary "TipTap Hosting Agreement" that will be signed by our community business partners. + Developing Volunteer Documentation: Draft a comprehensive Volunteer Agreement, including clauses for non-disclosure (NDA), liability, and code of conduct. + Ensuring Compliance: Develop and review our Privacy Policy to ensure full compliance with Canadian privacy legislation (PIPEDA). + Risk Management: Create other necessary legal documents, such as liability waivers, to protect the organization. + General Counsel: Provide guidance to the management team on legal matters related to contracts, liability, and compliance as they arise within the scope of the program. --- Ideal Candidate Profile: + Must be a qualified lawyer in good standing with a provincial or territorial law society in Canada. + Experience in contract law --- Why Volunteer Your Legal Expertise with Us? + High-Impact Pro Bono Work: Make a tangible and lasting contribution to a vital cause by applying your specialized legal skills.
