Head of Marketing - Marketing Leader (Remote, Full Time)

Ongoing
Organization: Right to Live Canada
Location: Remote (United States, Canada or Europe)
Time Commitment: We are ideally seeking a full-time volunteer commitment of approximately 35 hours per week. However, exceptional candidates with strong marketing leadership experience may be considered on a serious part-time basis, provided they can commit at least 20 hours per week. Duration is negotiable, with a four-month minimum commitment.
This is a remote volunteer opportunity with Right to Live Canada, a virtual-office based Canadian non-profit start-up.

------ THE MISSION
Right to Live Canada exists to realize the right to live as a practical, supported, executable choice.
Founded in response to poverty-driven euthanasia among Canadians with disabilities, we are building systems that help people remain connected to preferable living futures. Our work includes developing Continuity Service, Continuity Insurance, Social Brokerage, and Corporate Farming—initiatives designed to create long-term support, financial sustainability, and organizational innovation.

------ ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a Head of Marketing to build and lead the organization's marketing function in a remote volunteer capacity.

This is a leadership and builder role. Rather than managing an existing department, you will create a practical marketing system that supports recruitment, fundraising, public awareness, and organizational growth.

The objective is to establish a simple, effective marketing function capable of producing consistent, high-quality public-facing work while coordinating a growing team of volunteers.

------ RESPONSIBILITIES
-- Build and lead the organization's marketing department.
-- Identify marketing priorities aligned with organizational goals.
-- Recruit and manage volunteer marketing team members.
-- Coordinate writers, designers, social media volunteers, website contributors, video creators, and other marketing volunteers.
-- Develop practical workflows, roles, and quality standards.
-- Oversee website content, social media, recruitment campaigns, sponsorship materials, fundraising materials, and public communications.
-- Ensure marketing projects move forward efficiently in a remote environment.
-- Work closely with organizational leadership to support strategic priorities.
-- Maintain clear communication, documentation, and operational follow-through.

The Head of Marketing is not expected to personally complete every marketing task. The primary responsibility is building the systems and team that ensure the work gets done effectively.

------ QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
-- Experience in marketing, communications, digital marketing, public relations, content strategy, campaign management, or related fields.
-- Experience leading or coordinating marketing or communications projects.
-- Ability to build and organize marketing operations in a startup or early-stage environment.
-- Experience recruiting, organizing, and coordinating volunteers or teams.
-- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-- Strong editing, messaging, and organizational abilities.
-- Experience overseeing public-facing content including websites, social media, campaigns, graphics, videos, or promotional materials.
-- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a remote environment.
-- Familiarity with Google Workspace, Slack, social media platforms, and basic marketing tools.
-- Professional judgment and reliability when representing the organization publicly.
Preferred:
-- Previous experience as a Marketing Manager, Head of Marketing, Communications Manager, Brand Manager, Digital Marketing Lead, or similar leadership role.
-- Experience building marketing departments or volunteer marketing teams.
-- Experience in nonprofit, startup, advocacy, research, technology, or mission-driven organizations.
-- Experience with volunteer recruitment marketing, fundraising campaigns, sponsorship marketing, email marketing, or brand development.
Interest in helping build a high-performance volunteer organization.

------TIME COMMITMENT
This role requires 8–12 hours per week. It is well suited to someone who enjoys leadership, team development, and helping build a high-performing volunteer organization.

------ HOW TO APPLY
Apply using the form on our website (www.righttolive.ca/volunteer) or email your resume to volunteer@righttolive.ca.

Thank you for your consideration.
