1:1 Friendly Visitor

Extendicare Michener Hill is seeking compassionate volunteers to provide one-to-one visits with residents. Many residents benefit greatly from friendly conversation and companionship. As a Volunteer Visitor, you will help reduce social isolation, build meaningful connections, and brighten someone’s day.
Even a short visit can make a significant difference in a resident’s quality of life.

Responsibilities:
-Visit with an assigned resident on a regular basis
-Engage in friendly conversation and active listening
-Share simple activities such as reading, playing cards, puzzles, or listening to music
-Accompany residents for short walks within the home if appropriate
-Provide companionship and emotional support through presence and kindness
-Communicate any concerns to the Recreation or Volunteer Coordinator
