As a Business Development Advisor with Dar Abu Abdullah Association for Philanthropy and Development in Amman, Jordan, you will conduct a comprehensive market research and analysis in sectors such as fresh produce, food processing, and textiles, aimed at identifying opportunities for growth and expansion, particularly targeting export markets in Canada, USA and overseas. Apply today to have an impact in economically empowering vulnerable communities across Jordan ! *Roles and Responsibilities -Support in Conducting comprehensive research on trends, customer preferences, and competitors in fresh produce, food processing, and textiles in Jordan, Canada, and the USA -Collaborate with design teams within DAA to create new product concepts that cater to market demand and align with local preferences -Assist and collaborate in analyzing export conditions and standards for food safety and textiles, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations -Support with the development of a tailored marketing strategy that highlights unique selling points and creates branding and packaging appealing to target markets -Advise on identifying distribution channels in Canada and the USA, and the creation of detailed export plans addressing logistics, shipping, and customs requirements -Working closely with DAA team to ensure that product development and marketing strategies incorporate gender-sensitive approaches, promoting equal opportunities for diverse communities -Put a plan with the team for the integration of sustainable practices in product design and supply chain management, focusing on eco-friendly materials and processes that minimize environmental impact -Participate in pre-assignment training -Participate in at least 3 public engagement initiatives with Canadian audiences before, during, or within 6 months after the end of the assignment. Volunteers will be equipped with the tools, training, funds, and support to achieve these goals. Volunteers must also report on each of their public engagement activities through our Volunteer Information Portal. Virtual chats and individual check-ins can be booked with the Senior Public Engagement Officer throughout the course of their assignment and during the 6 months following its completion to seek guidance and support with their public engagement activities -Canadian volunteers are required to do at least one activity that contributes to meeting a fundraising target of $1,500. The minimum requirement is met by each volunteer using our Volunteer Information Portal to report having sent one message to their network about their volunteer assignment that includes the link to the WUSC Shared Impact Fund webpage. This message also counts as one of their three required public engagement activities. Volunteers will be supported with the tools, training, and resources to achieve the fundraising goal -Submit reports as required by the partner organization and by WUSC. *Experience and Qualifications -Degree in Business, International Trade, Marketing, or a related field -Proven experience in conducting market research and analysis Familiarity with product design and development processes Proficiency with information technologies and in computer skills (Word, Excel, Google Drive/Docs/Gmail, etc.) -Minimum two (2) years relevant professional experience in your field of expertise -A commitment to gender equality, youth inclusion, and international volunteering -Flexibility, adaptability, excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity -Experience with group facilitation and trainings, including content development considered an asset -Experience living and working internationally considered an asset -Written and oral fluency in English.
Certification or Education Required
Degree in Business, International Trade, Marketing, or a related field
