Want to learn about Northern Canada, share your community, and offer a life-changing experience to two youth? Northern Youth Abroad is looking for host families in all provinces (all locations considered) for youth from Nunavut and the Northwest Territories for summer 2026, June 20th-July 21st, 2026! The participants are 15-20 year olds who gain high school credits, new skills and work experience, confidence, motivation, lifelong friendships, and experience in southern Canada while participating in the program. Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Host families get the chance to meet youth from the North, play an important role in their lives including helping them have new experiences, get to share their family and community, form new connections, and make unforgettable memories! Host families will receive a stipend of $500 per week to help with the costs of hosting, with additional funds available for participants' allowance, recreational activities, and work placement expenses.
