Tutor (Elementary Level English, Math & Science)

Help support literacy, math and science skills by tutoring elementary aged children who participate in our Kids Clubs. Seeking three tutors, one with a specialty in English, one in Science and one in Math. 

Available Shifts: Thursdays 3pm - 545pm October - mid June (following school calendar & holidays)

Responsibilities:

Academically develop and guide students in a one-on-one, in-person setting with a focus on either elementary level Math, English or Science.  Each tutor will work with 3 children during their shift, leading sessions that are 45 minutes in length.
Assist children with homework or walk them through a grade-levelled workbook in the subject of study.  (KSM will provide workbooks and materials) 
Commit and attend consistently each week, working with the same students building a relationship of trust and consistency in their learning and development.
Complete weekly tutoring recaps for KSM staff
Participate in volunteer training meeting in advance of tutoring program
Engage with children in a positive, respectful & encouraging manner.
Communicate openly with KSM staff about any concerns and the progress of children.
Requirements:

Must be able to relate appropriately to children.
Must provide a current and clear Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) 
Adults with an educational background or passion for teaching.
