Adult Day Program Volunteer

Adult Day Program volunteers engage with older adults and seniors diagnosed with cognitive impairment, potentially mid to late stage dementia. An understanding of dementia and a willingness to adapt to changes in the cognitive abilities of clients an asset. As a volunteer you will be co-facilitating recreational programs and activities with older adults in a group setting. This might include playing games, puzzles, assisting with art or music sessions or having a quiet conversation with a client. There are 2 clubs available. Our integrated clubs are designed for adults who are at risk of social isolation due to a diverse range of challenges including early stage of dementia, cognitive impairments and/or physical challenges. Our dementia specific programs are tailored to people living with mid to late stage dementia.
