1-2 hours / weekly
Minimum 6 month commitment
To assist a resident at William Rudd House with companionship and social interaction on a one-to-one basis whilst helping them to pursue leisure activities like gardening that can enhance their self-esteem and well-being.

Hours: 1x shift per week for 1-2 hours (Monday, Tuesday OR Thursday)
9:00am-11:00am or 11:00am-12:00pm

Qualifications:
•	Ability to understand and be understood in English.
•	Effective communication and interpersonal skills (discretion, courtesy, empathy).
•       Must be comfortable working with individuals who have a physical impairment.
•	Ability to follow direction.
•	Ability to follow the Fraser Health Respectful Workplace Policy that includes working with a variety of individuals from different backgrounds (ages, ethnic, cultural, etc.).
•	Knowledge and compliance with infection prevention and control requirements.
•	Ability to maintain confidentiality and set appropriate boundaries.
•	Ability to perform physical requirements of position i.e. push wheelchair, stand/sit for long periods, etc. 
•	Have a basic understanding of brain injuries and how to communicate with individuals who have experienced them. 
•	Reference and Criminal Record Screening.
Additional Details & Skills Required
Required training includes:
1.	General Volunteer Orientation, Queen’s Park Care Centre.
2.	Online Volunteer Training Curriculum.
3.	Program Orientation with William Rudd House staff.
4.	Any other training that is required.
