Social Media Manager
Ongoing
As a Volunteer Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for managing Bibliobug’s Instagram and Linkedin page by creating consistent, thoughtful content aligned with the brand ethos. Your role is not to “grow followers fast,” but to build meaning, coherence, and trust over time. We are not aspiring to create viral content, rather to create a meaningful community of youth who can strongly relate to our brand. What You’ll Do: Content Creation: Design high-quality carousels, reels, and static posts that align with our brand ethos, tone, aesthetic, and language. Maintain visual and language consistency across the grid Work from content briefs and refine posts based on feedback Brand Voice Translation: Take our core concepts (Interdisciplinary Thinking, The Buzz, Cognitive Friction) and translate them into punchy, "un-googleable" IG copy. Translate abstract ideas from research papers into clear, accessible content Content Management: Planning, scheduling posts and managing the grid layout to ensure it looks curated. Feedback Integration: Work closely with the founders to refine designs based on brand evolution. Deadline Discipline: Ensure deadlines are met and revisions are incorporated on time. What We’re Looking For: At least 1 yr of work experience managing a company’s social media platforms Strong writing and visual sensibility Ability to communicate depth without jargon or oversimplification Comfort working with feedback and multiple iterations High ownership, reliability, and respect for timelines Your comfort with an ongoing, remote collaboration. Alignment with Bibliobug’s values: clarity, care, curiosity, and nuance Not Necessary but will be GREAT to have, An Aesthetic Eye: You have a portfolio that shows you understand design, typography, and "layered" visual storytelling. The "Thinker" Mindset: You are curious about psychology, sociology, how humans think and how societies take shape. Formal degrees are not required. We value a strong visual sense, creative judgement and the consistency to show up more. We believe creativity doesn’t always need credentials. If you believe in your power of visual storytelling and see a strong alignment with this role, please do apply. Commitment & Logistics: Duration: Project-based Hours: Flexible, milestone-driven. Location: 100% Remote. We require you to have your own laptop/tablet/iPad This role requires regular availability and follow-through This Role Is Not For You If: You prefer trend-based, viral content You struggle with feedback or revisions You’re unable to commit consistently to daily time blocks
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
What You’ll Get: Hands-on experience shaping the voice of a nascent, original brand A strong portfolio of thoughtful, non-generic content Close collaboration with a purpose-driven founding team Priority consideration for future paid roles as Bibliobug grows A formal certificate of collaboration and a personalized recommendation for your future writing or academic pursuits.
