Volunteer Female Head Coaches Needed for Girls Basketball Rep Teams ($500 Stipend)
The Mission We need strong female leaders to be the Head Coaches for our ECOHOOPS Girls Rep teams. We are opening spots for U10, U11, and U12. Please note that these teams will only run if we get enough player registrations and find the right coaches to lead them. Competitive youth basketball usually means toxic gyms, screaming coaches, and a ton of pressure. We are throwing all of that out. We want to give these girls a space that is safe, fun, and empowering. We need female Head Coaches to lead the way. These girls need to see what real girl power looks like in competitive sports. We focus on connection and true skill building. We use a sports science method called Ecological Dynamics. Think of it like learning to ride a bike. You do not sit and read a manual. You hop on, wobble around, and find your balance naturally. We teach basketball the exact same way. The girls learn by playing and solving problems on the court. Who We Need Young women (19 and older) ready to step up as Head Coaches. You will be a "big sister" and a strong role model. Coaches who bring fresh energy to the gym. We do not want people stuck in the old, toxic ways of coaching. Since you will run a Rep team, you need a solid grasp of the game. But you do not need years of official head coaching experience to apply. University students, future teachers, or former players looking to give back. Women who want to build a supportive, fun, and highly competitive space. What You Get A $500 stipend per season to say thank you for your time. Official sign-offs for your practicum hours. Glowing reference letters for Teachers College or Grad School.
Additional Details & Skills Required
Training will include directly shadowing Head Coach Adrian Sapp at select Rep Team practices, giving you hands-on experience with the EcoHoops Philosophy before leading your own sessions.
Certification or Education Required
First Aid certification is an asset but not required.
