Garden Volunteer Supervisor - Butterfly Meadow at Laurier and Commercial

Sustainable Milton is an active, non-profit environmental group which holds many events each year. Our goal is to create a sustainable and resilient Milton through initiatives that help reduce the impacts of climate change. Environment First, Solution Focused. That's the essence of Sustainable Milton.
Biodiversity is one of the key ways that we can help mitigate the effects of the changing landscape. Native plants, which promote the health and safety of native insects and mammals is the essential ingredient. As such, we are the caretakers of a newly planted pollinator garden on the NE corner of Commercial Drive and Laurier Avenue.  Although the plants are all native perennials, it takes several years of care for perennial plants to become established. 
With the consultation and direction of a more senior member of Sustainable Milton, you will be organizing weekly or biweekly activities such as planting, watering and weeding this area. 
In addition, since many of our volunteers are students collecting volunteer hours, you would need to take attendance and record hours as well as communicating schedule changes to your volunteers.
A successful applicant would need good communication skills, and be familiar with spreadsheets. And, of course, have a keen interest in gardening and environmental stewardship. 
This is a position for an adult or a mature student.
