Founding Board Member: Champion Dignity and Healthcare Choices for Seniors in BC!
Ongoing
Does the state of how seniors across BC are treated horrify you? Do you want to bring healthcare choice and joy back to aging as a low-income senior? Do you have time to take on a working board position? Join our Founding Board of Directors!!! About More at Home Society At More at Home Society, we are a grassroots organization in our founding year, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for seniors by ensuring equitable access to essential home care services through financial subsidies. Our innovative programs create a supportive environment where seniors can remain in their homes and communities, available to seniors across British Columbia. Bringing equity to these choices to low-income seniors helps alleviate the burden on family caregivers, enhancing their quality of life, supporting our communities and lowering the pressure on BC's overextended public-funded health and home care facilities. 1 in 9 seniors in public long-term care could be supported at home, and those who age in place often enjoy a life expectancy SIX TIMES longer than those in institutional settings. We firmly believe that every senior deserves the opportunity to age with dignity and security, having autonomy and equity in choosing their healthcare options. Which passion is yours?
