Case Worker Volunteer

1633 Richter Street, Kelowna, BC [map]
2-8 hours / monthly
Minimum 12 months
BGC Okanagan is seeking volunteers with a desire to learn, and a passion for youth and young adults.

Volunteering with the Restorative Justice program at BGC Okanagan offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in your community from Peachland to Lake Country.

Restorative Justice offers a court-alternative resolution process for youth and young adults ages 13-24. It emphasizes repairing the harm caused by conflict, crime and violence. It holds the offender accountable for their actions. The process is collaborative, inclusive, and respectful. It involves the participation of those who caused the harm (offender) and those harmed (victim) in finding a solution that repairs and promotes trust and harmony.

The restorative justice process allows victims to obtain information, express the impact, and feel empowered. Offenders get the opportunities to take accountability, undergo personal development, and reintegrate.
