Takedown Lead - VegFest Kelowna 2026

1600 Abbott St, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 1B7 [map]
3-4 hours
Lead the volunteer crew that closes down the VegFest Kelowna site at the end of the event.

You'll work from the takedown checklist to direct and assign a team of takedown volunteers — sequencing the breakdown of tents, tables, chairs, banners, and signage, checking all equipment and inventory is accounted for, and coordinating with vendors as they load out. You'll do a final walkthrough with the Event Manager to confirm the site is left clean and meets venue requirements before you head out.

This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll be coordinating a small crew at the end of the day, keeping the breakdown on schedule, and solving problems as they come up. Expect to be on your feet, do some lifting and moving around the site for the shift.
Additional Details & Skills Required
Volunteers do not need to be vegan but must be respectful of the vision and mission of Positively Vegan Society. Vision: Thriving, plant-based communities that promote sustainability, ethical living, and planetary/population health. Mission: Empower and educate people to adopt a vegan lifestyle through positive events, entertainment, and educational programs.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Take the lead on our site teardown and be the one who closes out the festival grounds for another year. Be part of a movement creating thriving, compassionate, plant-based communities across BC. You'll help create a positive space for vegan food and lifestyle, support local businesses, and bring the community together. Make a difference, meet like-minded people, and gain experience in event planning, outreach, and nonprofit work — all while having fun promoting compassion and sustainability.
