ROLE OVERVIEW LOCAL CHAPTER LEAD About us The Volunteer Well is a Canadian non-profit dedicated to fostering a more inclusive, compassionate society by directly connecting volunteers ("givers") with individuals in need ("receivers"). Through an innovative direct-source volunteering model, we empower individuals, strengthen families, and unite communities—especially those facing systemic barriers such as women, seniors, new immigrants, low-income individuals, and marginalized groups. Our mission is carried out through a digital portal, impactful programs and events, partnerships with businesses and philanthropists, and advocacy for generosity as a force for social change. By breaking down traditional barriers to support and promoting a culture of giving, we envision a world where kindness, justice, and human connection thrive. Role Overview The Local Chapter Lead is the face of The Volunteer Well in their respective city/region and serves as a catalyst for relationship-building, platform growth, and community mobilization. Working in alignment with the organization’s virtual-first strategy, the Chapter Lead will spearhead one in-person community event per month and engage in strategic outreach to local businesses, nonprofits, institutions, and municipal agencies. They will play a central role in fostering partnerships, increasing user acquisition, and sustaining long-term community impact. A core aspect of this role involves promoting our platform, the Generosity Hub, as the go-to resource for direct-source volunteering in the region. This is a remote-first, part-time position that requires in-person presence for local activations. This role may involve occasional travel within the city, as well as evening and weekend work for events. Key Responsibilities Brand Presence, Platform Promotion & Engagement • Introduce and promote The Volunteer Well platform and its Generosity Hub within the local community through outreach, demos, and one-on-one conversations. • Facilitate user onboarding and provide support to new volunteers and recipients to ensure a smooth experience. • Collect and share success stories and impact narratives that reflect local experiences. • Champion the platform in neighbourhood forums, public discussions, and events. Stakeholder Relationship Development •Build and maintain relationships with local nonprofits, small business owners, service clubs, and community leaders. •Initiate and manage sponsorships and co-promotional opportunities with community-minded businesses and organizations. •Cultivate collaborations with larger nonprofits, healthcare providers, educational institutions, and government agencies. •Represent The Volunteer Well in municipal discussions, town halls, and community board meetings to elevate awareness. Community Event Facilitation • Organize and lead one monthly signature in-person event to activate the community and introduce the platform. • Partner with local venues, organizations, and volunteers to co-host and support events. • Gather community input and feedback to ensure events reflect neighborhood needs and values. • Encourage recurring participation and promote peer-to-peer referrals. Coordination & Reporting • Submit monthly reports to the central team on user acquisition, partner outreach, and event outcomes. • Contribute to the development of best practices and toolkits through cross-chapter collaboration. • Participate in virtual planning and check-in sessions with fellow Chapter Leads and national staff. • Track and share data related to impact and partnership progress. What are we looking for •Proven experience in community outreach, nonprofit programming, or grassroots organizing. •Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills across sectors. •Comfortable facilitating events, conducting outreach, and navigating local networks. •Familiarity with your city/region’s social services, nonprofit landscape, and community groups. •Self-motivated, reliable, and aligned with the mission of inclusion, compassion, and shared responsibility Lived Experience and Diversity Statement The Volunteer Well is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion. We encourage applications from Indigenous, Black, racialized, and 2SLGBTQ+ communities, women, newcomers, persons with disabilities, low-income families, and other equity-deserving groups.
