Story Avenue Classroom Helper: Feb 19 & 20

Classroom volunteers are sought for Story Avenue, a conference-style writing workshop for Gr. 5 & 6 students from 5 city centre Edmonton schools. The sessions are taught by professional Albertan authors and illustrators.
 
The event is on the mornings of Feb 19 & 20 (Thursday and Friday) at the Centre for Education at 1 Kingsway. That’s the big blue building attached the Victoria School and across Kingsway from the Royal Alex Hospital. 
 
Shifts are from 8:30am-noon on Thursday and 9:00am-12:30pm on Friday. Folks are welcome to volunteer for one day or both. We will need help setting up before the sessions on Thursday, then being in-room helpers for the two morning sessions (meeting the hosting teachers when they arrive with the kids, leading the groups to the correct rooms, being an added authority figure in room during the sessions, taking kids to the bathrooms as needed, etc.). On Friday, volunteers help in the rooms and after the sessions are over, pitch in on tear down.
