Volunteers Needed for Event Help!

YESS is looking for 4 volunteers across two volunteer shifts/assignments to assist with the 2026 Will & Estate Planning Seminar Luncheon. Each shift requires 2 volunteers.

Date: Wednesday, October 21, 2026
Time: 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Location: Spirit of Hope United Church – Lower Hall
7909 82 Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB

Shift 1: Buffet and Kitchen Support — 2 Volunteers
Arrive on site for 8:15 AM

Volunteers will assist with:

Unloading the YESS cargo van
Setting up tables, chairs, décor, and the buffet area
Helping the Kitchen Supervisor unload food and supplies
Monitoring and replenishing food and beverages during the event
Helping guests receive their lunches and find seating


Shift 2: Reception and General Event Support — 2 Volunteers
Arrive on site for Noon

Volunteers will assist with:

Loading the YESS cargo van
Cleaning up up tables, chairs, décor, and the main hall
Preparing the reception and main lobby areas
Providing relief at the reception table
Assisting wherever needed during the event
Tearing down the event space
Cleaning up and loading supplies into the Kitchen Supervisor’s vehicle after the event
Loading the YESS cargo van for its return to Whyte Avenue

YESS staff will be on site to provide direction and assistance. Some lifting and carrying will be required.

Volunteers should wear neat, comfortable, non-restrictive clothing suitable for moving event supplies. Comfortable, closed-toe footwear is required.

Parking is available in front of and beside the church, as well as along the surrounding streets near 82 Avenue NW and 79 Street NW.

This is a great opportunity for individuals or a small group looking to make a practical, meaningful contribution while supporting an important YESS community event.

YESS supports youth in Edmonton who are experiencing complex barriers, housing instability, trauma, and crisis.
