About Our Organization Young Mind’s Eye (YME) is a not-for-profit organization aiming to provide educational services to the underprivileged population. Our Organization originally started as our student group Help Young Minds at the University of Alberta. We now focus on establishing our organization on a national scale to serve more youths out there. At YME, we strive to work together as a team, support each other and push each of our programs forward in order to make an impact on our community. Position Summary The Director of Outreach will lead the development and implementation of outreach strategies to recruit volunteers and participants for our various programs. This role is responsible for creating and nurturing relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and the public to advance the mission of Young Minds Eye. The Director of Outreach will work closely with various volunteers and executives to ensure cohesive and effective communication and outreach efforts. Key Responsibilities: Create Outreach Plans That Make Sense for Youth: Design fun, accessible ways to connect with young people and communities. Choose the right audiences and tailor activities so youth feel welcomed, supported, and included. Build Real Connections in the Community: Work closely with schools, youth groups, and community organizations. Form strong relationships that help young people access programs, resources, and opportunities. Lead Outreach Programs That Support Youth: Run outreach activities from start to finish, making sure they’re helpful, engaging, and meaningful. Check in on how things are going, listen to feedback, and improve programs so they better meet youth needs. Skills: - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Strong project management and organizational abilities. - Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. - Proficiency in using outreach and marketing tools and platforms (ex. Facebook, Instagram, etc).
