Volunteer Math Literacy Tutors

2 hours / weekly
ongoing/year long term
Do you enjoy problem-solving and working with numbers? Do you like helping others? You don’t need to be an expert at math! Mentor an adult learner in basic, everyday math and help them improve their skills, gain confidence, and reach their goals. From whole numbers and basic arithmetic, to practical applications such as ratios and percentages, simple algebra and geometry, adults gain the knowledge and skills needed for everyday life, employment and further education.

If you interested in supporting an adult learner to improve their basic math skills and if you live in the Edmonton area, we would love to hear from you. Please note that we require proof of vaccination for in person meetings. Training and support is provided.

PALS - Project Adult Literacy Society is looking for adult volunteers who are willing to tutor another adult either in person or via a video chat for around 2 hours a week. Training, support, and learning materials are provided.
Additional Details & Skills Required
There is a 2 hr general orientation and a 2 hr program training with ongoing support from a program coordinator as required
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Share your skills, make meaningful connections, and see the positive impact you have on another adult's life!
