One-on-One Math Tutor

Did you know, math is the primary academic reason why students drop out of school? There are many reasons why one might not further their education, but math is one of the most challenging academic barriers for learners to overcome outside of extenuating circumstances.

This where we can use your help! 
You don't need to be an expert, you just need to know the basics to pass on these skills to people who really want to learn them. Mentor adult learners in math-related concepts and help them build confidence in pursuing their goals. From basic arithmetic skills like addition and subtraction to helping learners with trades-related concepts like measurements and fractions—every exercise helps them gain the knowledge and skills needed for daily life, employment, and further training.

Project Adult Literacy Society (PALS) is looking for adult volunteers who are willing to tutor one-on-one for 2 hours a week for up to one year (or until the student reaches their goal). Tutoring can be in-person at the PALS office, library, or via Zoom! Times and days are based on your schedule, but current demand is for weekends and evenings. Training, materials and continuous support are provided at every step.
