Board of Directors Position

Would you like to be a part of a non-profit that supports foster families in Edmonton area? Do you envision a world where children have a positive, safe, stable and supportive environment when they are not able to live with birth family or kin? Do you want to identify creative ways to ensure families have a healthy, positive and supported fostering experience? 
Mountain Plains is seeking applications for several Board of Director positions from candidates who are passionate about working with an Agency that responds to changing landscape of child intervention and works to meet the ongoing demand for the foster children/youth and families.
Board members will guide the organization towards a sustainable future by adopting sound, ethical, and legal governance and financial management policies, as well as making sure the agency has adequate resources to advance its mission.
Additional Details & Skills Required
Mountain Plains is looking for directors who have professional experience in a variety of areas, as well as strategic / problem-solving skills, and strong interpersonal skills. 
Additionally we acknowledge the importance of our directors having a mix of cultural and educational backgrounds and who can offer a variety of perspectives. General Board meetings are held remotely via video conferencing every month and typically last one to two hours.
