Humane Cat Trapper — Experienced or Trainable
Case-based; as needed
Help Hope Lives Here safely rescue cats who need assistance! We're looking for calm, dependable volunteers who have humane cat-trapping experience—or who are willing to learn under supervision. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Help with specific HLH-approved trapping cases under an assigned coordinator. - Support humane trapping, monitoring and safe handoff according to our instructions and local requirements. - Report concerns or unexpected situations immediately and protect confidential case locations. - If you're new, shadow an experienced trapper before being considered for independent assignments. GOOD FIT Patience, sound judgement, careful follow-through and comfort working outdoors. Experience with humane live trapping is preferred, but suitable trainees are welcome. Your own reliable transportation is required. WHEN & WHERE Case-based, sometimes time-sensitive work in the Edmonton area and surrounding communities. Exact locations, monitoring schedules and transport arrangements are provided privately after approval. Additional Details & Skills Required
New volunteers shadow an experienced HLH trapper and may not trap independently until approved. Case plans, weather, location, privacy, animal welfare and handoff protocols are provided privately.
Certification or Education Required
Humane trapping experience is preferred; supervised training is available to suitable new volunteers.
