Online Literacy Program Co-Facilitator - Big Kids Storypalooza

1 hour / weekly
-
We're seeking a co-facilitator to support our staff in our online Big Kids Storypalooza family literacy program! Our family programs use stories, games, and songs to develop early literacy skills. Join us on Thursday afternoons from 3:45 to 5:00 PM for 10 weeks of fun. This program started on April 10th and ends on June 12th.

What's special about this program? Big Kids Storypalooza is a festival of storytelling, imagination, and song. In addition to reading and singing, we also help families create and share their own stories!

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to dip their toes into literacy programming. As a co-facilitator, you would primarily be responsible for backend tasks to make sure the program runs smoothly: taking attendance, re-naming participants, and monitoring the chat. We also encourage you to present a song or story yourself! We provide 30-minutes of hands-on training to ensure you feel comfortable and supported as you begin in this role.

Interested in learning more? Contact our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer_coordinator@famlit.ca.

*Shortlisted applicants will be contacted via email.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Volunteers learn about early literacy and language development, as well as engaging multiple generations of families in learning. We provide professional development and appreciation events throughout the year.
