Family Literacy Program Co-Facilitator - Story Sprouts

We're seeking a co-facilitator to support our staff in our Story Sprouts family literacy program! Our family programs use stories, games, and songs to develop early literacy skills. Join us on Friday mornings between 9:15 and 11:00 AM at the Castle Downs YMCA. This program runs for 10 weeks from September 26th to December 5th.

What's special about this program? This program is suitable for families with children 6 and under, and our staff show how caregivers can modify activities to their children's age and language skills. Story Sprouts also features our lending library: a selection of books that families can borrow from each week to extend the learning at home!

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to dip their toes into literacy programming. As a co-facilitator, you would be responsible for welcoming families to the program, actively participating in songs and games, and assisting with interactive storytelling. We also encourage you to lead an activity yourself at least twice throughout the program. We provide training to help you feel supported as you begin in this role.
