Online Literacy Program Co-Facilitator - Around the World Through Stories and Songs
1 hour
/ weekly
-
We're seeking a co-facilitator to support our staff in our online Around the World Through Stories and Songs family literacy program! Join us on Tuesday mornings from 9:45 to 10:45 AM for 10 weeks of fun. This program starts on September 23rd and ends on December 2nd. Our family programs use stories, games, and songs to develop early literacy skills. What's special about this program? Around the World Through Stories and Songs develops literacy skills while exploring cultures around the world. Throughout our 10-week session, we'll visit three countries and learn about some of their traditions, languages, and foods! This is a great opportunity for someone looking to dip their toes into literacy programming. As a co-facilitator, you would primarily be responsible for backend tasks to make sure the program runs smoothly: taking attendance, re-naming participants, and monitoring the chat. We also encourage you to present a song or story yourself! We provide 30-minutes of hands-on training to ensure you feel comfortable and supported as you begin in this role. Interested in learning more? Contact our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer_coordinator@famlit.ca. *Shortlisted applicants will be contacted via email.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Volunteers learn about early literacy and language development, as well as engaging multiple generations of families in learning. We provide professional development and appreciation events throughout the year.
