Board of Directors - Director with Accounting Experience

As a director at the Centre for Family Literacy (CFL), you will be adding your experience, perspective, and connections to support the Centre in achieving our vision through our Community Impact Plan. 

We are currently looking for one Director with professional accounting experience to take on the Treasurer position in a year. Board members are elected for two-year terms at our AGM in May. Our board is a governance board model with working committees. 

Board meetings are held in person in Edmonton or online. The board is willing to consider candidates living outside of Edmonton and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities:
- Attend board meetings every other month.
- Become a member of one of the board’s working committees.
- Be an ambassador for the Centre for Family Literacy in the community.
- Use your expertise, networks, and connections to support organizational initiatives (e.g. fundraising, events, campaigns, raising awareness, etc).

Time Commitment:
- Approximately 8-10 hours per month
- Board meetings - 6 per year (2 hours each)
- Monthly committee meetings (1-2 hours each)
- Committee tasks - timing will vary depending on the tasks
- Planning day - one full day approximately once a year if needed, usually a Saturday
